Scoring is described in the older article. In summary, each restaurant gets a point for a single approval noted in the AJC thread. A neutral response nets a half point. A negative response nets -1 point. Percentages are calculated via scoring 1 point for positive and a half point for a neutral response divided by the total number of votes of any kind (times 100).
Some comments are worth noting. Score isn’t nearly as important as reading the thread and finding restaurants that fit your personal style. My family found Mad Dog’s BBQ in Conyers by noting the raving people did over their smoked ribs. Although 50 people liked Fresh Air, you may not. Although Louis Grizzard liked Sprayberries in Newnan, a lot of people didn’t like it. Individual tastes are too different for me to tell any one person what they personally will like. Each individual has to be their own judge.

I just wanted to request that you rate and review Dave poes BBQ in Marietta. Dave split from Sam & Dave’s recently and opened up a restaurant near Marietta Square. The food is excellent and deserves to be listed here. Thank you!

Mr Burrell,
Back in 1996, I used to commute from Marietta to Tucker ( a bit closer than Snellville) and in those days, with 285 wide open and 80 MPH the de facto speed limit, I could get to Tucker in 45 minutes. These days, with traffic and all, it’s a lot longer.
Marietta is completely out of scope on weekdays, and can only be accessible to me on weekends. That said, I’d be happy to put it on a list of places to go in Marietta sometime!

I live in Snellville but drive to Louisville, GA for my BBQ. That is about 135 miles to get Purvis BBQ but it is the best in the state of Georgia. I’m making a BBQ Express run on Dec 19 for myself and several Snellville friends I have hooked on Purvis’s BBQ.
You have Purvis rated a 3 but I don’t know what your rating system means.

If you read the original article, I explain in detail what the “rating system” means. In short, 3 people liked Purvis in the thread I parsed. Making more of it than that is pushing the data set too hard.
