There is a hint of the old Badayori in Atlantic Buffet Sushi and Grill. This is a restaurant that pays attention to appearances, and whose foods are well displayed. It’s only a hint though. There is none of the air of “conspicuous consumption” that drove some of Badayori’s over the top offerings. No “palm heart” salads, no plates of artichoke hearts. The sushi range from surprisingly good to surprisingly confusing. Unlike Badayori, which had excellent consistency in the beginning, the classic Chinese buffet dishes in the Atlantic Buffet are sometimes good and sometimes ordinary. The crawfish lacked spice. Cauliflower were overcooked. The scallops with black bean sauce were shockingly devoid of black beans.
This place truly shines, though, when you get to the line of their grilled foods, especially the mushrooms, zucchini, and mackerel. The mackerel, especially, is amazingly good. We went back for seconds and thirds on Atlantic’s line of grilled foods.
It’s inexpensive for this kind of eating. $10.99 per adult, with soft drinks $1.59 each. The breads are good here, and they keep warm rolls in a carousel, along with slices of pizza.
It’s clear they’re just getting started, and the service, though, is really excellent. Plates disappear from tables and people are around, refilling drinks constantly.
Highly recommended. Get here fast. Buffets arrive in “blow you away” fashion and can change on a dime.

Was excited to see we were getting a new resturant in Snellville. Waited all winter and half of spting. Was very disappointed to see it was not a southern resturant. We didn’t need another china buffet, we already have 2 now this one. I wish someone would put up a cafeteria style resturant in Snellville. At the Atlantic Buffet the food is normal fair as the other china buffet we have, lots of MSG and little other seasoning. T
The vegatables were over steamed the chicken was dried out. So dissappointed.

The cafeteria model is pretty much dead if even the Pappas family can’t make a go of it (see this link, for example). On top of that, between the buffets offered by John Boy’s and Golden Corral, where is the market for a traditional cafeteria in Snellville?
In Atlanta, Asians, especially Koreans, are at the front of a lot of dynamic new eating. Witness Heirloom BBQ as an example of that.

July 23, 2011 at 3:53 pm
Went for lunch last week. There was plenty of good choices and all that I tried was good. For that price, in fact not sure what else you could want OR what else would make you happy. I am going back tomorrow for dinner.
Thank you

i am happy to hear that u like the atlantic buffet
August 20, 2011 at 1:34 pm
Just from reading the above blog, I find it hard to believe that raquel Taylor is 11 years old. Why would a person that age be so interested in what a blog says about one place as well as the way that this person talks. I am going to try this place out tonight and I just wonder if my servers name will be raquel or taylor or both. I hope that it is a good place to eat as I have been waiting to go there for a while.
August 20, 2011 at 6:42 pm
I also find it hard to believe the person, calling themselves 12 year old Taylor is exactly as stated. Everyone should know why a resturant would need to be handicapped accessable in this day and age, just a downer for us that have aged and need help to walk or keep ourselves from falling. The furniture in Atlantic Buffet is all banged up like it was used prior to opening in Snellville, but that is ok. I really had a problem with the serve yourself for dipping your own ice cream. Everyone putting there hands down in the cooler to dip there ice cream, including children with dirty nasty hands, crawling up on the side with there feet and shoes touching the inside of the wall where the ice cream is not sanitary. If you have to have a sneeze shield on all the other food they need a ser n save ice cream dispenser, at least that is not as bad and is a little more sanitary. No one I have spoken with says they will never go back.
September 6, 2011 at 10:54 pm

Atlantic seafood buffet is awesome….period.
February 28, 2012 at 4:33 pm
I HATE SEA FOOD!!!
December 19, 2011 at 10:36 am
After reading the reviews, and realizing most people only bother to write a review when they’re dissatisfied, my family opted to visit the buffet.
The establishment was clean, the food was plentiful and hot, the employees were efficient. I recommend it!

WHAT DO U MEAN” I WOULD LOVE TO DIP YOUR OWN ICECREAM”
January 30, 2012 at 12:15 pm
Atlantic Buffet is the worse thing ever. I can’t believe they call themselves a restaurant. That is insulting, and now, everytime someone says the word atlantic, I have an autonomic gag reflex. This is very painful considering I live by the atlantic ocean. So if anyone who works here sees this, I want you to know. Make your food taste like it wasn’t made several years ago, or just stop trying.

Bad customer service
October 7, 2012 at 11:47 am
Sorry, but I thought this place was pretty bad. I just went for sushi, and it was not what I was looking for. Most of the sushi was stuffed with cream cheese, or fruit! And the hot food, was not much better. My suggestion is to spend a few more $$ and get legit Chinese or Japanese.
November 8, 2012 at 7:24 pm
Atlantic Buffet is CLOSED. The first time I went was soon after it first opened, it was not too bad so I thought I owed them another visit. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning on that second visit. My only regret is not reporting my illness to the proper health inspector or someone in the health / food safety field.
I was not suprised when I drove by there recently to find the place CLOSED. The crudely handmade sign on the door suggested they were going to reopen under new management.
If they do reopen, PLEASE think twice before eating there. The thought of how sick this place made me still lingers.
